I had read Ravana’s sister by the same Author. Although that is a short read, it was enough to push me towards picking up Asura.
This book is a fictional account of Ramayan through Ravana. One of the most interesting characteristics of this book is how it makes your thinking tinker in a very different direction.
While the book is narrated by Ravana(mostly), it beautifully brings out his sometimes humane, flawed and vulnerable side. The why of his decisions and the fuel behind his actions have been presented very well in this book.
The book compels you to question “What if? What if there is weight in Ravana’s perspective?”
Most of the book is gripping. Anand Neelakanthan’s writing surely starts grooming the reader into thinking about an alternative perspective.
